so officially the first ep of my beloved series aired today^^ and believe me, it was one helluva first ep. AMAZING. starting of course with an epic OP. even if I was a bit wary of YUI making the song, because her voice is way too soft for this series, she managed to make an energetic and very fitting song. and as for the op itself:

they're spoiling some things WAY too early^^; although I have to admit, seeing him, with his hair traced as well and with that terrified expression, was a nice start^^


Lust. Is. Creepy. even creepier now that Kikuko-san plays her XDDDDDDD I have to hear Envy soon ;_;


hehehe I can't have enough of those two^^ but seeing them, as well as Greed, so early, means they're going to rush through some well known parts rather early. we'll see we'll see^^

No, I think it was just a technical glitch this time (it started working again pretty soon). But I must admit I am a little surprised that Shinsen has taken it up, since as you say Funi already has the rights. So let's see how long it lasts.

Having seen the ep twice by now, I tend to agree. Even if watching it at 23.30 last night might have been the reason for my strange dreams... XD It's SO nice to see them all again. And at least this far I have nothing real to complain about ^^

Blah! My Japanese is not good enough to watch it raw... I can catch the nuances, but I can't quite follow the dialog. Not yet... I like watching subtitled though, becuase then I catch the nuances of the language in it's natural form. (Like Ed being extra sarcastic by using polite form while using impolite tone to Roy. "I undertstand... it was my fault completely" *rolls eyes.*

I like Roy's new voice too. I liked the lighter quality to it. Somehow for me it relayed more of that half bored lecturing tone.

I'm very pleased. I can't wait to see more. I hope they do Winry justice this time.

mine neither, but I do manage to catch certian jokes and simpler dialogs^^ indeed, subtitles are the best^^ (hehehe that little dialog made me giggle XDDD so much like him^^)

we'll see how he manages serious situations now. as for now, I'm really pleased with the cast^^

Butting in with an answer (though I'm sure Ishte won't mind): After reading Winry's part in the manga and comparing it to her part in the anime, I feel she became very much a "one note" character. She didn't have the range of expression she's received in the manga - in the anime, it seems like she's on one extreme of miserable and then the other extreme of happy - and more often than not, miserable. She doesn't feel as well-rounded and her sense of justice (and humor) seem misplaced in the anime.
