and it seems I'm a failure at making buttons' designs..... sold absolutely NOTHING from them..... my friends had a decent selling (considering how small the convention was) while mine was an epic phail....... thinking of how many people said that they were nice and would deffinetely sell... I start to doubt their honesty. what's going to sell in Poland, only yaoi pairings from Bleach and Naruto? sorry..... this probably marks the end of my merchandise career...

I was fully honest while praising this buttons. They look very decent ( still, I'm not a Gurren Lagan fan, if I were they would cause in me ever more sensations ).

I have no idea why they didn't sell. Plus, you think that Clovery's or Knp's did any better? The ones that are seeling are mostly chibis and those with situational texts, like "Sas-uke" for example.

More conventions to come, do not grieve.

yes, that's what I don't like about fandoms==; everytime you try to be unique and creative you're unnoticed by majority==;

I'm not grieving, thanks for your concern^^ I'm just sick and voiced my mind. what I meant was, I'm not going to invest any more money in it knowing that they'll not sell, it's the waste of time and other means.

I really liked your works... I am surprised they didn't sell. D: I am so sorry.
You shouldn't give up that easily.

Remember what you told me!: "What doesn't kill you will make you stronger!"

they didn't that's the fact^^; you don't need to be sorry, you did nothing wrong <3

yes I remember, but what costs me lots of money and doesn't bring any income is not worth my attention^^; we'll see what becomes of it later

Aww... Poor you! ;_; But they were nice! I'm surprised they didn't sell, even if I must admit I have no real knowledge of what's popular in Polish anime circles right now. (Maybe the problem is that your friends have much better taste than the general fans? ^^) Didn't you and some friends plan to sell them on the web, or what happened to that idea? Maybe that would work better. But then again don't take commercial advice from me, because I really suck at selling stuff or knowing what people want ^^; People have such weird taste. If it can be called taste at all...

no no it's ok^^; I'm really fine (even if ill) with this, I'm not popular so it's hard to make money of my works^^;
hmmm Polish fandom is generally behind compared to other countries, now we have Naruto and Bleach, many D.gray fans, champloo, even if we DO have ergo proxy in our TV, I don't see any fans of it, which is sad ;_; (I don't know if it's better taste really^^; I trully start doubting in it^^;)

well, the idea remains, but we'll be only 2 girls selling stuff. coordinating such a big group of people is hard, if not impossible. maybe that way we can organise ourselves better and make more designs of our liking^^;
every piece of advice id worth a ton so I appreciate it of course <3 people do have tastes, even if all they buy are chibis or black buttons with white texts saying "say NO to yaoi fans", "yaoi time", "XD" and so on^^;

You're ill?! >< Take care of yourself! But it's at least good to hear that you don't seem to let your misfortunes in merchandising get to you too hard.

From your description I'm not sure Polish fandom sounds all that much behind other underdeveloped areas (such as the northern parts of Europe...) In any case you must stay true to what you like, designing for others will only make it work with no fun involved. Besides that, I like your taste, so... ^^
Well, I admit chibis are cute, so it's too bad if what you say is true and you can't draw those XD Text buttons on the other hand isn't much of art even if I can see their banal attraction. But I'd still say people lack taste when they can't notice good stuff when they see it! ^^

Again, take care and try to chase away that illness of yours! *hugs*

well dzioo, i dont' think ppl are lying when they say that your buttons were going to sell. it's just that maybe your online audience is not the same as the polish audience, but i really can't believe you didn't sell well (even the viral one?? ;^; i thought he was popular there?) And seriously those buttons were really nice. and it's true what Zan said, all the other only sold chibi and the text buttons. and i'll support what cofie said too (which is pretty awesome) "What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger!!" HORAAAA!! XD

I was also discouraged at my sale at AN this year, but it was a good learning experience and i'm motivated to do better for the future times to come :3 but i guess it's hard for you right now because you were not in a good mood recently ): but i hope you will feel better soon >

I htink that problem is also a little bit different- we are circle of 8 people, so right now we have around 100 designs at the table- too much. And Dzioo's are really great but not as "funky colourfuly kawaii". But I don't understand why people don't want to buy them >>

chibi aren't bad, you know, knowing they will sell, why don't you simply make chibis next time? True,but why do I feel like if I was selling myself somehow insted of my skills?

There's also the problem that there are few girls who also have the stands and are selling their merchandise, who are greatly popluar and known in our fandom. SO people prefer to buy from them- only becaouse the're popluar >> That's shitty (but I like them personally and had alot of fun mocking all the drolling fangirls and even pretending that I'm one of the girls for some time when I helped her selling stuff. of God, brainless fangirls are SO AWESOME )

And the last thing- we were GREATLY discouradged after our first convention. I almost thought that I won't sell anything anymore- but I've learnt my lesson now :/ Unfortunately the harder way :/

i thought of that a bit after my first con. and (because i'm asian) I have a more objective point of view?? XD so i thought i'd just draw cute stuff and sell those at cons making profit, but not showing true skill. because business is business. but not everyone likes that idea - including the other part of me XD so i do both. at least the profit from the cute stuff will let me continue drawing more XD

this is exactly what I did this time- a lot of chibis and I've heard they sold better.

But still, something in my just twists and dies, when I think that if I want something to sell it has to include Neko!Chibi!Sasuke or Chibi!Byakuya smecking Chibi!Renji. Or something near this. And unfortunately all fandoms I am into (doesn;t mind if it's whole manga or a pairing) are quite unpopular both in Poland and around the world. So not so much profit of what I'd enjoy XD

But still every artist doing comissions or working full time as an artist (I don;t count those whose painting sell for sum which lets them live for 2 years) is a little bit selling himself. We just need to get used to it.

sorry, I wrote it in a very emotional way, I didn't mean to sound rude or anything. it's just that I feel strange when I see experienced sellers telling me they'll sell well and then..... cold shower.... (yes, even viral^^; I too thought he was popular, guess spending too much time is world-wide fandoms works bad on my perception of Polish ones^^;) but what Zan said means I'm not suited for this buisness because I CAN'T make chibis and text buttons can be made by anyone...

well it's not my first try selling stuff, it usually goes bad, maybe because my other freinds are too good ;_; we'll see^^; not in a good mood, true, what is more.... I'm ill after this convention><

thanks for your support <3

ah nah, it's ok to be emotional about it.

but knp has a point XD there were a lot of other buttons.

when i was watching the olympics the commentator said something interesting. there are tons of countries out there that participate but most of them never win. but they keep trying. so i feel like that's what we have to do :3

cheer up emo kid <3

first of all, that con wasn't really representative 300 people? (like spartans XD)

secondly, there's next con in 2 weeks, for 1000 people- better.

Thirdly I think there are simply too many buttons on the table. I've learnt so far that income is always much more or less the same for each seller and table, so we may think about diversyfing our sells at baka and see what happens.

:/ cruel world

polish fandom is retarded (well, most of it). deal with it. with naruto and bleach being the peak of intellectual entertainment, it is completely FUBAR in my opinion (generalizing, yes, there are people which watch/read more sophisticated works, but they are only a drop in the ocean) =='' so cheer up emo kid^^
