fandom is lame

the reason for me writing it is simple. in the middle of each month, for past 7 years, certain cow has blessed us with one chapter. for me, those are one of the greatest moments of my otaku life. seriously, I HATE series that are too long, because usually, more than 52 episodes of an anime and more than 150 chapters of a manga, streach it to unbearable state. the plot has holes, characters become boring and such. unless the author has a great idea for his/her story...

but recently, my faith for fandom has died. while reading posts on LJ regarding latest Gundam 00 episodes or FMA chapters, it seems to me that people are only looking for "shallow entertainment" in media nowadays. they only care for action, explosions, etc. no need for intelligent plot, characters' development, establishing relationships and introducing secondary characters. when I read statements like "Graham is the only worthy thing in there, the rest is totally pointless" or "it's only worth reading when Roy and Ed are presend, otherwise it's boring" I want to smash someone's head. well sorry!! Graham is kickass, true, but why don't you pay a little attention to the world portrayed, conflicts, relations between countries and fighting fractions? why don't you care for unexpected developments or for other characters taking active part in forming upcoming results? I'm really sorry that you don't care for Hohenheim declaring war to Father or for Marcoh defeating Envy. I know that all you care for is Lockon making up with Setsuna, Graham or whoever else and Ed or Roy just being on panels, not really doing anything. don't get me wrong. Lockon is my fav in G00 universe and Ed is my Fav in FMA universe. but it pains me that people judge a series by amount of yaoi hints, not appreciating interesting universe and scenario. but maybe I'm just growing old....

o jakiej mandze jest Iszy akapit? ^^"

we all grow old ^^" but well, you're right. it's not like i don't watch series looking for yaoi, but... well ^^"

[identity profile] dzioo.livejournal.com 2008-03-11 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)
jesli o mange chodzi to FMA, jesli o anime to Gundam 00, bo pisze o 2 rzeczach^^

I'm an anti-yaoi otaku so that's probably my biggest problem with fandom. but I don't watch a series just to find nice couples dammit><

[identity profile] duokai.livejournal.com 2008-03-11 08:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm totally with you here! (But then, you probably already could guess that much...) Give me an interesting world and characters with depth any day.

And I wouldn't say you're growing old, you're simply growing into having a more refined taste ^^ (which is wrong to say too, since I strongly suspect you've had good taste for a long time) But you know, even if your faith for fandom gets mortally wounded by reading opinions like that, it's just the fandom that has let you down, not the actual stories. Of course that's easy for me to say, since I haven't cared a lot about the fandom itself for a looong time. I'm in it for the stories (and sometimes the charas, I admit, but they need the stories too), and that's more than enough for me ^^

And Lockon should keep away from Setsuna, they're for Felt and Marina respectively XDDD

[identity profile] dzioo.livejournal.com 2008-03-11 08:31 pm (UTC)(link)
thank you! at leats one person to back me up^^

every one of us started with silly stories such as Sailor Moon or Slayers you're going to kill me for that XDD but that was when we were young and inexperienced^^; so, I'd blame mother nature and father time for this as well^^;

yes, you're right, I'll still keep up with the stories and dig up more interesting stuff. it's only sad that you don't really have people to talk about it with... ;_;
Of course that's easy for me to say, since I haven't cared a lot about the fandom itself for a looong time.
good for you I'd say^^;

yes, they're doomed^^ I'm just really scared for Lockon.... latest preview doesn't look really good ;_;

[identity profile] duokai.livejournal.com 2008-03-11 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)
weeell, Slayers is sillyness after all, so I think I'll let you live for now ^^ you're much more valuable alive anyway But it's beautiful, easygoing sillyness. And it was what made me discover my favourite seiyuu. (Sailor Moon I can blame on it being about the only thing available on Swedish TV at the time, so there I don't even have to pretend to have a good excuse XD the Swedish SM theme song has forever burnt itself into my brain even more than Caramelldansen btw. It's lethal! XDD)

good for you I'd say
not really, since it very much results in your observation: no people to talk about it with >< Since evolved fans like you and me are few and far between. But at least some exist ^^

well, there's those pics of him with eyepatch that have been floating around, so I cling to them for now. Right now, I'm more sorry for Kinoue and some of the ones rumored to meet their doom ;_; Not Nicol-level sorry, but still... (hope I don't spoil anything for you here, but it sounds as if you're at the same place as I so I don't think so)

[identity profile] dzioo.livejournal.com 2008-03-17 06:47 pm (UTC)(link)
slayers IS sillyness but it's an obvious one. I mean it was supposed to be silly, it laughes at silly things and, thanks to that it's enjoyable. because it's not trying to be something else, deep or anything. if your fav seiyuu is the one on your icon - I love you XDDD if it's not.... I love you still LOL I'm not sure if I want to hear that then..... caramelldansen is enough for my poor brain==;

some do, true, but sometimes, if you're lucky, new fans, green fans, may treat you like a god.... "wooooowwww you have seen it?? tell us about it!! senpai!!! @_@" XDDD

well damn, I was right DX I won't say anything because I don't want to spoil YOU.... but so far, spoilers are right..... ;_______;

[identity profile] duokai.livejournal.com 2008-03-17 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly. Slayers doesn't pretend to be anything else than light, magic entertainment and I love it for that and will always do! (and now I suddenly feel the need to rewatch something Slayers soon...) Yes, you're so right ^___^ I admit to being a Hayashibara Megumi fanboy. Fully. To the point that I even have some of her cd's XDD

If I ever was to get that kind of attention from green fans, I don't know if I'd feel honored or disturbed by it XDDDD

I've caught up to 23 now (but couldn't stay away from the spoilers before I watched it, naturally ^^;) and, well, yeah, you seem to be right >< They really seem to be aiming for killing off half the cast before season end ;_; I'm only 95% convinced that he's really dead though. It's gundam after all and we haven't been shown the body yet. They can still make a Trowa or Mu out of him. Not that I really believe it... (and my icon suddenly feels sad ^^;)

[identity profile] dzioo.livejournal.com 2008-03-19 06:39 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL don't tempt me to, I love reading the manga so much that it hurts my brain XDDDDD
aaaahhhh I used to be such a big fan of hers^^ heck, I still love her, she's one of the greatest seiyuus there, so characteristic and unique. but I hate her sometimes. if you saw the movie "paprica" then you should know why. if you didn't, watch it

hahaha they can be scarry true XDDD but then again, all of us have started somehow^^

it's a great thing that staff sticks to the scenario and doesn't care for popularity polls (like in GS and GSD's case. ever wondered why Deakka suddenly was in love with Milly?) but then again, my heart will break ;_; I'd say he's dead rather for sure. they showed it in such manner - memories form the past, kickass strategy, and his goodbye. if he DID come back, in the same fashion as Mwu did, I'd be veeeery dissapointed. even if he's my fav meister.... ;___;
and your icon is more than sad now, it's heartbreaking....

[identity profile] duokai.livejournal.com 2008-03-22 10:23 pm (UTC)(link)
You know, you just reminded me that I have to buy those two new English translated Slayers novels sometime soon... ^^;
and I haven't seen Paprica... yet XD so I don't know why I should hate her XDDD Need to remedy that soon too I suppose (the "see Paprica" part I mean, not necessarily the "hate her sometimes" part XD)

Well, yeah, I suppose the case for Lockon really being dead is quite a strong one this time. And I must admit I too would find it a little disappointing if he's brought back in Mwu style, even if he was the most likeable of the four ;_;) Speaking of dead Gundam pilots - when I finally get a Gundam namesake (sort of, at least), they kill him off after only a couple of episodes... It's SOOO typical XDDD

And poor, poor Felt! ;_;

[identity profile] dzioo.livejournal.com 2008-03-26 04:32 pm (UTC)(link)
yes, buy them, for slayers universe is fantastic XDDDD no seriously, if I had them available in poland (as well as the medieval manga) I'd buy them for sure.
I hate her for a few reasons, Paprica being one of them. the movie is great, somehow confusing but VEEERY entertaining. the reason why I hate her is, without reading the info for seiyuus, I didn't know she had roles in there. that's the greatest thing about seiyuus, sometimes it's so hard to distinguish them, yet it's fascinating how many voices one person can manage

people say that his brother will take his place. but that won't be the same lockon ;_; hahahaha well I wouldn't say it's only case in Gundam series XDDD usually, if the director has guts of course, the most likable characters are killed off^^'

I just hope she gets through it.... somehow... now that some of Ptolemayos crew has been killed as well.....

[identity profile] duokai.livejournal.com 2008-03-26 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Weeell, it's not like they are everyday items around here either, but sometimes with a little luck it's possible but rarely cheap ^^; stupid english imports...

LOL if you only hate her in that way, I'd say you're fine ^^ It's a fine line between love and hate sometimes XDDD

I hope that rumor is just a rumor. I don't want a Lockon clone I think. Not now when I'm starting to get used to him being dead. But then again, if the director's killing spree continues they're going to have a lot of free positions to fill for the second season ^^;
When people start to talk too freely about their pasts, it's a certain sign they're going to die XDDD

[identity profile] dzioo.livejournal.com 2008-03-27 10:50 am (UTC)(link)
here you cannot even find them, unless you order them from e-bay or anywhere else. they don't import them because it doesn't pay off:/ polish fandom is young, unfortunately

well it's a good kind of hate anyway^^ I still love listening to her, and a few others, but when I find such surprosing roles, I need to bang my head on the wall for missing it^^

it was confirmed that he has a brother, wasn't it? I was surprised that he also had a sister O_o but I agree with you, totally. what wories me more than Lockon's brother, is Nena. she's the only survivor od Trinity siblings, and because Meisters are weak now (it's said that something nasty will happen to Allelujah too) I'm affraid that she'll HAVE to join the:/ and I'd hate that==;

[identity profile] duokai.livejournal.com 2008-04-01 12:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, Swedish fandom is young or old it seems, and I'm not sure that's better. Especially when most young ones think english=cooler it must be hard to try to publish translated stuff ^^; And for the mainstream young ones (= naruto-otakus ><) Slayers, GW and their likes are stone-age=boring.

Granted, she's not one that you easily can identify as "oh, that's her voice again". At least I can't ^^

Actually, I don't think I'd hate seeing Nena as a meister ^^; never mind she's a homicidal psycho and would be all over Setsuna unless the recent events have changed her behaviour somewhat ^^;; She's a better option than the Saji-as-meister rumors at least -_-; (And yes, I've seen all the eps by now. That's why I'm back at this thread XD). I'd prefer Felt though, even if it means an increased risk of her being killed off >< And yay for Wang Liu-Mei, she's the closest we've come a woman-to-kick-ass in this series and she's still promising XD

[identity profile] yuki-yyc.livejournal.com 2008-03-11 08:27 pm (UTC)(link)
(this is maplesugah by the way ^__^/ long time no talk *waves*)

Nothing sucks me into a series better than its character development and story though recently a certain seiyuu became a factor too, ahem. It's the fans who are creating this trend that is making recent series have more fanservice too - - Your argument is justified and it is certainly not because you are growing old! XD

[identity profile] dzioo.livejournal.com 2008-03-11 08:35 pm (UTC)(link)
yes, I know, sorry for not commenting on your journals lately^^;;;

aaahhh it's reassuring to know that there are more people who value plot over good-looking bishies good seiyuus are also factors for me! when a new series is announced, I always look up the cast ans staff list to know who is responsible for certain project^^ and I haven't seen your seiyuu-of-choice in a loooong time ;_;
that additional fanservice stuff unnerves me>< why does every recent series has to have big boobs and panties shots????? ;_;

[identity profile] sharyamato.livejournal.com 2008-03-11 09:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Ick! These are reasons why I the FMA community, for stupid people like that. I admit I have my moments when I'm like "Where's Ed D:?" But I'm not gunna say if it's not focusing on him it's boring! (I don't keep up with gundam, so I'll stick to referring to FMA)

I have my fingers in so many fandoms, that crap like that makes me ashamed to call myself a fan.

I think fandoms like Naruto and Bleach get forever long cause the creator sees that the fans don't care for anything geniune, so it's like "Oh, okay, have some of this for it's fanservice!"

You icon makes me happy.

[identity profile] dzioo.livejournal.com 2008-03-17 06:55 pm (UTC)(link)
exactly. well he's the main character so it's expected that people miss him (I actually threw my fists in the air when I saw him this month XDDD) but saying that it's not WORTH reading if he's not there... is just too much

I wouldn't say I am in fandoms... I simply enjoy certain shows. somehow I refrain myself from entering actual fandoms

and thus older fans reject such series. like me. because I care for the idea and following it. and it made me really sad when Kubo started stretching his.....

the Yoko one? or the claire one? XD

[identity profile] sharyamato.livejournal.com 2008-03-17 07:27 pm (UTC)(link)
81 pwned me so hard! I was wondering what he was up to, so glad he's back!
All the FMA characters are so interesting. You wouldn't have the series without Ed, but all the other characters cushion and keep the story going as well.

I watch several communities, but only participate with 3 or 4 really. But I keep up with several series XD

oh! Bleach is interesting me again! The fight fight fight the Arrancar flunky's seems to have left and Aizen is going to attack the human world. me = FINALLY PROGRESSION! I CAN LOVE BLEEACH AGAIN!

Both!

[identity profile] dzioo.livejournal.com 2008-03-19 06:43 pm (UTC)(link)
it did!!!! so many things happened it was hart to catch up, but it cleared a few things. and yaaayyy for kickass Ed^^
well he's the maintitle character, but it's great he has such a great company. reading such complex manga is so much fun^^

yeah I saw the latest chapter, but it still goes too slowly for me... I'll still try going back from time to time though^^;;

your is epic too O_O so beautiful ;_;

[identity profile] sharyamato.livejournal.com 2008-03-19 06:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Still moving slowly, but at least it is signful of moving forward. (Also, the chapters are so short... that takes control of the pace as well... unfortunately!)

Aww thanks. It's one of my favorites even if I don't use it much.

[identity profile] dzioo.livejournal.com 2008-03-20 05:58 pm (UTC)(link)
yes, it comes out more frequently but unfortunately cannot bring much progress with 20 or something pages:/

you should, it's really well done^^ (but I hate that very moment DX )

[identity profile] evil-little-dog.livejournal.com 2008-03-11 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I've been enjoying the last few chapters of FMA (though I'm still questioning Al and Winry's reactions to Ed being missing..."Hey, he's missing, let's go off to a different city out of Briggs, which may be up to two weeks or more travel by train, and not find him first!" But that's just me).

As for yaoi hints - could care less. But then, I've never really been into the slash fandom anyway. I want a good solid storyline with good characterizations. I want fun characters with real personalities, rather than cookie cutter ones. I want characters who grow and change with the lessons they learn. In other words, I want characters who seem real to me.

[identity profile] dzioo.livejournal.com 2008-03-17 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
hahaha true, it felt a bit off, but their argument for such behavior killed me "remember who we're talking about" XDDDDD I'm sure they're very nervous inside and worry alot. but their situation and current events also require fast actions. I bet they believed they'd help him more by making next moves than by searching for him. and actually, he TOOK care of himself^^

I wish more fans would think the way you do ;_; *hugs you tightly*

[identity profile] evil-little-dog.livejournal.com 2008-03-18 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
It still kinda disturbs me...*laugh* Though I can certainly see your argument.

Hey, I got into fandom a looooong time ago. Slash was looked at with a peculiar eye (though I remember going to a convention with my then-boyfriend who was one of the Fan Guest of Honors for his comic book series back in the '80's and him saying, "You know, I really like that artist's Star Trek art with Kirk and Spock, but is it a little weird?" I took one look at it and said, "K/S. Kirk and Spock are a couple as far as she's concerned," which just blew his mind that I (a) recognized it and (b) he had never heard of such a thing).

I'm not quite sure why yaoi is suddenly so very "hot" now, either. I mean, it's always been out there - slash, yaoi, whatever, and being an editor of fanzines, I read some pretty nasty stuff (storyline wise, not sex wise, though most of the time the sex was bad, too - "C'mon, sweetie, I'm straight and I know that boys require much more lube than girls do..."). I think that it's funny that so many of the writers/artists for yaoi/slash are female and straight. It just...makes me shake my head.

[identity profile] dzioo.livejournal.com 2008-03-19 06:47 pm (UTC)(link)
well, considering that Al is his only brother and Winry is in love with him.... true, disturbing^^; but then, reunion will be more dramatic XDD

LOOOOL a new discovery for him XDDDD
I'm not sure why it's so in fashion now either. it's not a matter of ideoligy anymore, it's just trendy.... what pains me because now us hetero fans are in minority it seems..... yeah, fandom is wierd X_x

[identity profile] evil-little-dog.livejournal.com 2008-03-19 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, but it throws off my storyline in a fanfic I'm writing! *laughs*

Poor Chazwell. He was so appalled.

My friends made a very good living printing and selling slash fanfic zines. Okay, there were more in their stables than just slash but that's where they made their big money, back in the day.

(completely off topic - it's difficult typing with a dog in your lap.*points at icon*)

[identity profile] dzioo.livejournal.com 2008-03-20 06:01 pm (UTC)(link)
LOOOOL XDDDD another one?? or the one with winry being arrested? gosh I can't wait already XDDD

that's why I threw away an idea of making a doujinshi, it wouldn't sell at all ;_;

(hahaha let the doggy write something from time to time^^ how many do you owe anyway?)

[identity profile] evil-little-dog.livejournal.com 2008-03-21 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
Heee, another one. I've got a lot of them on the backburner right now, mostly because Ed!Muse gets distracted and runs off to another story. *glares at him*

Awwww, but I'd love to see you do a doujin...*puppy eyes*

I currently have three li'l doggies, though I've had as many as six. Anything less than three isn't any fun, as far as I'm concerned.

[identity profile] dzioo.livejournal.com 2008-03-26 04:35 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL I don't know if I should envy or pity you XDDDD so many stories to keep up with^^; not to mention, hard to deal with muse XDDD

really?? O_O I never thought about it, first of all I should think up a story, and that's not easy at all><

aaahhh but they're rather small right? so you can manage keeping them at home. we have a big one, so it's not possible to have more^^

[identity profile] evil-little-dog.livejournal.com 2008-03-26 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, too many stories, indeed. *glares at Ed!Muse* I wish he'd start talking to me about any of them again.

Heee, if you want, take one of mine and draw it. *laughs*

Rogue's in the icon. Yeah, they're all little dogs, two miniature Schnauzers and a Dachshund cross, though I once had an Irish Wolfhound and four little dogs all at the same time (four miniature Schnauzers and a little long-haired mutt).

[identity profile] dzioo.livejournal.com 2008-03-27 10:54 am (UTC)(link)
hahaha writing block it is then??^^ if I knew what workes at your Ed, I'd help. but unfortunately I don't^^;;

eeehhh, could I? *_*

aaaaahhh so that's her name^^ you have such a big family^^
but wait... isn't Wolfhound kind of..... big?? O_o wasn't he quarreling alot with the small ones?

[identity profile] evil-little-dog.livejournal.com 2008-03-27 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Writing block...he keeps wanting SEX scenes, the brat. I keep telling him I don't write those (often).

Sure! I'd be tickled pink!

Yeah, I've got lots and lots of little dogs. Not enough, I always want more.

The Wolfhound was huge. He was also a coward and when the little dogs barked at him, he'd crawl into my lap. Which would make the little dogs bark more. Do you see a vicious circle, here? *laugh*

[identity profile] cofie.livejournal.com 2008-03-12 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
zomg we are growin old xDD

You are tottally right.

[identity profile] dzioo.livejournal.com 2008-03-17 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
inevitable I'd say XDDDD but still sad ;_;

where is my sis anyway???

[identity profile] ishte.livejournal.com 2008-03-12 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
Dah! I agree. Just because I have wailed at at the Edlessness of the last couple of chapters didn't mean I found the chapters lame. I loved the action and story as it developed in those volumes to... haha! However, Im worried abou Ed. Obviously he's ok since Al is still holding up... but I do want to know where he is. I do like when the story shows me backstory, and Hohenheim (vs Father) and what he's doing. He always seems so confused... but seems he's not really... it's just his demeanor. Personally, I think Al and Winry had some unspoken exchange of ideas about why they went where they did, and we're just not allowed to see it yet. They know something. I can't wait to see what it is.

[identity profile] dzioo.livejournal.com 2008-03-17 07:15 pm (UTC)(link)
it's true, I was getting impatient too, since his condition was rather severe. but sometimes such "divertions" have to be made, especially if the plot involves more than main characters and events^^

yes, Al and Winry have an idea on their own. somehow, I think Al feels obliged to protect Winry now, when Ed is missing. for his sake too. so probably that's why he took her somewhere further away

[identity profile] ameru.livejournal.com 2008-03-13 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
agreed. people in fandoms can be really shallow. it might be because they really are shallow. at that point, just ignore them :/

[identity profile] dzioo.livejournal.com 2008-03-17 07:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I will, thank you^^ but I wish I had friends I can talk about anime with^^;

[identity profile] ameru.livejournal.com 2008-03-18 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
which fandoms dzioo? XD when i have time i can try to catch up to your fandoms XD

also, i suppose the mail service lost my package for you. Which is fine, i guess :/ i make u a new one. which mailing addy do i send it to?

[identity profile] dzioo.livejournal.com 2008-03-19 06:50 pm (UTC)(link)
whichever we share, I don't care, I want to talk to someone about my animus ;_;

it seems like you're right ;_; and no it's not fine, you should concentrate on your job and on AN now, don't mind me really^^ thank you for thinking about me^^

[identity profile] ameru.livejournal.com 2008-03-20 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
it's ok i already thought of what to put in the package hahaha, i'll just need to wait to put in some drawings :3 so be patient a bit~ maybe i'll wait till after AN to send you some prints too :3

[identity profile] ceruleansan.livejournal.com 2008-03-17 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, oh, very much agreed. Nowadays people spit down on things like characters interaction. And based on the words of some jerk on the forums, EdWinry is "pointless drivel" and people are idiots for being happy about them than wanting more action.

Yeah, because PAIRINGS SHOULDN'T HAPPEN, AMIRITE? Only what they want should happen. Because pairings are so over-rated, and we're all looking for something different and tragic and dry, yes? Because a story's not good unless it's overflowing with nothing but plot, and no character interaction that happens in everyday life. (Hell, in everyday life, it's all "What dress should I wear? Would he like it? NUUUU")

They shouldn't try to change the spirit of a story. If they want no romance... they should go read Death Note! Why are they reading the FMA manga. Didn't Hughes constantly teasing Ed and Winry about getting it on clue them in, way back in volume four?

It's Arakawa's choice, and let those who want to enjoy it, enjoy it. Also, I find it hypocritical that one moment they say you don't like romance, next you say EdRose would be better?

Yeah...

Yeah, people come for the action, but stay for the characters and how the plot and situations develop. it's not all about fighting, Ed does not always win, etc. It also has fresh character interactions that make you want to jump up and down.

Quoting from a favorite book of mine, "The tale is wiser than the teller". Say, you are reading a story about a bunch of people hiding from bad guys, and at one point they hide in an olive jar-- the person who you told the story to might just be enamoured with the concept of hiding in a olive jar and try it.

So yeah >.>;... EdWinry fans find EdWinry awesome while still enjoying the story.

Whether they kike it or not, Arakawa loves family scenerios. Like it or not, Ed's prolly gonna get someone. Whether they like it or not, it just might be the one girl who can scare him and make him melt (Haha, cheese much?). FMA isn't just about how badass Ed is oh how action-y a chapter is. it's about the characters and plot and development.

I really don't see why that's so looked down upon here (prolly why I'll never regularly hang out here except for manga posts like these) but yeah... just wow. So immature, people trying to be all "deep" and going all "FMA is different and only how I see it, RAWR!"

But no, once a story has romance and thougfht rather than action, IT IS TRASH! :D YUH!

/"pointless drivel"

LOL I actually read your (?) original post on fullmetal-alchemist.com XDDDDDD but I absolutely agrre with you here, be it on that forum or LJ. it's a shounen manga drawn my a woman. a woman that comes from rural areas of Japan. so yes, aside from action and nice plot, she pays attention to characters and their relationships too. what I like about pairings in FMA is that they're quite obvious, they're probable (which means that IRL people with such characters are very likely to end up together) but they DO NOT BURN YOUR EYES. there are hints. there are thoughts. but nothing else. and it's also important part of the story because such realisations help those characters decide on their further actions. and it shouldn't bother anyone. saying "please let Rose end up with Ed just to annoy EdWin fans" is just the dirtiest and most immature thing to say. if you don't like the canon pairing, don't pay attention to that hated character. if you like other pairings - write fanfiction. but don't bash other people. internet and manga should be for fun, not to create conflicts

Oh yeah, the post was mine xD;. your rant needed exactly what my posts said, and so to be lazy I just copy-pasta'd some parts here. :B

o.x Yeah. Also, apprently, you get mauled if you speak of EdWinry on the forums there normally. people are all "Edward belongs to the fangirls/Rose/Noa/Roy/OC/pie" whatever. Some EdRose and EdOC fans on DA even copy EdWinry fanarts and poses and designs and concepts EXACTLY into their favoured pair. I'm like, how petty and unoriginal can you get? have some pride!

yeah, I don't like how people get all pissed just because one fandom is having fun. Take the manga Ludwig Kakumei for example, I don't like ludwig and Idike, but I agree he did love her and I don't mind if their fans are happy for that. It's that simple, why can't people just live and let live?
