sketches and a meme

random ideas I got in the last couple of days. drew dancing girls because I haven't drawn any 'motion' pictures in a long time. so yeah, something silly to exercise^^;
Bruce with a sax - no more saxophones, EVER>< they're even more terrible to draw than drums>< but yes, he does play a sax. it's his secondary instrument, so I won't be drawing him with it that often.
bottom part - guess what movie I watched a couple of days ago^^; no way I'd ever manage to nail Glen Keane's style and flexibility of lines, but I tried^^; I love this movie. I love Tarzan's movements and anatomy. I love Jane. I love Tantor. basically, I love everything about it, every frame has such a great composition ;w; oh, and the colored pics was done with new watercolor pencils I got from

Wild Swans, what is it about?
no subject
\
I recommended Wild Swans because you recommended Memoirs of a Geisha to me. It's a true story about 3 generations of women in China. A really good book/ :)

oooh, that may be interesting. thanks a lot for the recommendation!

1. A Film/Series: In Plain Sight. A pair of U.S. Marshals hide people in Albuquerque, NM, through the Witness Protection Program. I watch it for the truly amazing snark writing between Mary and Marshall, the two Marshals.

oh my, that lyrics is actually pretty sad ;_;
hmmm, never had a baby octopus so I can't say if it's weird^^;
what are those two books about? I may try looking for them
no subject
I love sad lyrics? I really, really do. They make me happy.
The baby octopus I had I really liked tasted like mushrooms. Yummy.
The Silver Metal Lover is a young adult science fiction story about a very rich sixteen year old girl, Jane, who can have anything she wants...until she falls in love with S.I.L.V.E.R. - a sex robot. Except he's so much more than that. It's a really beautiful book and the first Tanith Lee novel I ever read. It's also out of print, but Amazon.com might be able to find it for you.
The Last Unicorn is a fantasy story about the last unicorn in the world, and her quest to find out what happened to her fellows. On her travels, she is helped by a wizard, Schmendrick, and a woman named Molly Grue. She's turned into a human girl, and falls in love with a prince - only to discover the prince's father has something to do with the disappearance of the unicorns.
These two authors influenced my style of writing more than I can say. I wish I could turn phrases like they do!

you seem to love many sad and angsty things^^;
the second book sounds especially interesting! I'll try looking for them, thanks alot!
no subject
I do. And I'm generally such a happy person. Go fig.
It's hard to describe The Silver Metal Lover. It's really an amazing love story, and one of the few romances that I thoroughly enjoy. The Last Unicorn was also made into a movie, by the same anime studio that used to do the Captain Harlock/Galaxy Express 999 series/OVAs.
no subject
oh my, she did? O_o poor her, it must be terrible>< but I'm glad she got over it. still, can't imagine what it must feel like...
last unicorn was an anime? have to dig it up then :D
as for the Silver Metal Lover, I'm sure it's amazing. the part with sex robot got me a bit wary but if I ever find it, I'll give it a go!
no subject
Yes, the movie is very pretty but the book is still much, much better.
Yeah, Silver being a sex robot throws people off. XD It's much less about the sex, though.

01. Username: Duokai
02. Favorite fictional Character: Cagalli Yula Athha still among the top. And I recently rediscovered my love for Duo Maxwell. Of non-anime ones maybe Sherlock Holmes. (And Nina, Trish and Rebecca of course...)
03. What inspires you: Drawings, photos, movies, my friends, real life ...
04: What are you studying/What are you working as: Studied *takes a deep breath* geography, political science, history, environmental science, urban studies, communication, commercial law. Oh, and Japanese culture. Working as nothing >< Besides a way too small side income as web publisher.
05. What makes you happy: Friend(s), animated things, sun, some music, sisters' kids (most of the time at least).
06. What are you listening to now/have you listened to last: Probably was this. Tells a lot about me and my weird tastes... ^^;
07. What is particularly good/bad about my LJ: Good: everything. Bad: nothing (ok, so maybe that it could be more of it.)
08. An interesting fact about you: I'm weird?
09. Do you have a Crush at the Moment: It all depends on what counts as one; you know.
10. Favorite Place to be: Outside the country, or at least on vacation away from my home towns.
11. Favorite Lyric: It varies. This winter I had a huge hangup on Robyn's "Blow My Mind". Oh, and "I've Got a Dream" and "Something That I Want" from Tangled of course. More traditional, long-term favs are things like "Be Prepared" (The Lion King) and "God Help the Outcasts". When if comes to lyrics Disney songs are just easy remembered in my simple mind I guess ^^;
12. Best Time of the Year: Summer!
13. Weirdest Food you like: Not sure what qualifies as weird. Liquorice chocolate? Salt and sour candy (apparently very exotic for Americans and Asians)? And leaving the candy area - lutfisk.
14. FFN account?: Same username as here, but not used for years.
RECOMMEND
1. A Film/Series: Something Disney of course, but which ones that you haven't seen? Beauty and the Beast? Aladdin?
2. A Book: I never like to recommend things to others because taste is such a personal thing ^^;
3. A Song: Same as for books. Besides, you already have found the Disney songs anyway ^^
4: A Band: You know me and music ^^; The Cardigans. Only to say something I find nice to listen to sometimes.
PLUS
1. One Thing you like about me: You're awesome! ^^
2. Two Things you like about yourself: I always try to keep my promises if at all possible. I at least know what I can do and how good I am.

wow, you have studied a lot of things O_o all of them in uni, or does self-studying count as well?
and you're not weird! you're normal!
I really like "Something that I want", even if I still think that Polish lyrics are more fun^^ "God help the Outcasts is amazing, one of my all time favourites"
not sure if I ever had liquorice chocolate. sour candy is great and it's not actually that weird here!
I've seen both movies you recommended^^ I love the first, but the second not so much^^;
the Cardigans are cool. I know some of their hits, not all songs though^^;
are you implying something with this last sentence my dear? because you know I can always argue with you :>
no subject
Those subjects are the ones I've got uni course points in, so no self-studies in that list. In that case it would be waaay too long ^^;
See? I just can't recommend something you don't already have watched, read or know about XD
I suspected Poland was well inside the sour candy-region of the world, so I'm not all that surprised to hear that. You Poles are pretty normal after all ^^ Liquorice chocolate is as far as I've heard an Icelandic thing that started to arrive here some years ago. And I found it pretty likeable.
Well, the "I at least know what I can do" was only meant to be aimed at the rest of the worlds that doesn't see my usefulness ^^; So I'm not sure if there's a need for you to argue there even if I can see why you ask ^^;
I'm normal? Since when? XD
no subject
I'm not sure id liking sour candy is considered normal. after all, it's CANDY, it should be sweet^^;
no, I'm pretty sure you know what I meant especially considering what we talked bout last time^^; but yes, you're much better at knowing your own value than me. even if sometimes I do wish to smack you in the head for you saying that you can't write or do some other things><

I love the Tarzans especially. The left one because of how he's resting on his knuckles in ape fashion, and the other because... WOW! The angle! Awesome.
no subject
thank you so much! I found it interesting how they made him move. all Tarzan movies usually make him a little wild, true, but this one made him especially believable. it's like Glen Keane said on one interviews I've seen on Youtube, they wanted to make him as much gorilla-like as possible, something they couldn't achieve with a living actor. and I was impressed by his movement in the movie.
