By judging from my plus account, it seems you can get horizontal ads by going "Journal" > "Customize journal" and then under #3 "choose a page setup" choosing "Ad placement: Horizontal". That gives a not so nice ad bar at top on my pages. Unfortunately I don't think you can get away with anything less than either a top one or a side one tough -_-
So should I do it, or leave it for your bro? Saying "shouldn't you be doing other things right now?", I mean ^^ But then, you DO need to relax sometime, so I guess it's okay XD
